ALab Web Clipper (hereinafter referred to as the "Extension") allows users to save web content they actively select to a connected ALab service, and to convert ALab documents into rich text suitable for pasting into content editors. This policy explains how the Extension handles user information.

Information We Process

The Extension may process the following information:

• Website content and resources: the title, body text, selection, links, image URLs and image content, video titles, video identifiers, subtitles or captions of the current page, as well as other page resources the user actively chooses to save.
• Browsing activity: the URL and hostname of the page where a save action is performed, along with page metadata related to the current save operation. The Extension does not build browsing histories for advertising or user profiling purposes.
• Authentication information: the API Key the user voluntarily provides to connect to the ALab service.
• Extension settings: ALab service address, target project, save mode, recent save results, and per-site hover-save preferences.

Web pages themselves may contain sensitive content such as names, contact information, correspondence, health or financial information. The Extension does not actively infer or classify such information, but content the user chooses to save may include it.

When and Why We Process Information

The Extension processes information only in the following circumstances:

• When the user actively clicks to save a web page, selection, image, or video—to read the selected content and write it to the user-specified ALab project;
• When the user actively copies the WeChat-compatible rich text of an ALab document—to convert the format, render formulas, and embed document images where possible;
• When the user modifies connection or site preferences—to save settings and fulfill the user's request;
• To display save results, limited error information, and to troubleshoot issues the user actively reports.

The Extension's content script provides hover-save entry points for images and videos on supported web pages. When no save action is performed, this entry point does not transmit the page body, images, or video content to ALab.

Information Sharing and Transfer

• Content the user chooses to save, along with the page URL/title and API Key, is sent only to the ALab service configured by the user and verified by the Extension as HTTPS.
• When the user saves a supported video page, the Extension may retrieve video metadata and available subtitles from YouTube, YouTube NoCookie, GoogleVideo, or Bilibili-related services to fulfill the user's request.
• The Extension does not sell, rent, or exchange user data, does not provide data to data brokers, and does not use data for personalized advertising.
• Except where necessary to provide Extension functionality, comply with legal obligations, conduct security investigations, or in the event of a corporate merger or asset transfer, we do not transfer information obtained by the Extension to other parties.

Local and Sync Storage

• The API Key is stored in Chrome's local extension storage and is not synced via Chrome Sync.
• The ALab address, project, capture mode, and site preferences may be stored in Chrome extension storage; some settings may sync to the user's other browser instances through their Chrome account.
• After saving, the body text, images, or videos are retained by the user's connected ALab service according to that service's account, storage, and deletion policies.

Users can change the connection and project in the Extension's settings, or remove the Extension through Chrome to clear local Extension data. To delete content already saved to ALab, users should delete it within the corresponding ALab project or contact the ALab service provider.

Security

The production release only allows HTTPS ALab service addresses. The Extension does not download and execute code from remote servers. The Extension enforces limits on image size, request timeouts, concurrency, and protected network targets to reduce the risk of unintended access and resource abuse.

No method of transmission or storage can guarantee absolute security. Users should properly safeguard their Chrome account, device, ALab account, and API Key.

Limited Use

The Extension's use of Chrome APIs and user data is limited solely to providing or improving its single user-facing purpose: saving web content the user actively selects to ALab and generating editor-compatible rich text related to that content.

We do not:

• Sell user data obtained by the Extension;
• Use it for personalization, remarketing, or interest-based advertising;
• Use it for credit assessment, insurance, or other decisions unrelated to the Extension's purpose;
• Allow personnel to read user content unless the user has given explicit consent regarding specific content for support purposes, it is necessary for investigating security issues, it is required by law, or the data has been aggregated and anonymized for internal operations only.

Children

The Extension is not specifically designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Extension. If the publisher becomes aware that such information has been improperly processed, it will take deletion or restriction measures in accordance with applicable law.

Policy Updates

If there is a material change to how the Extension processes data, we will update this policy and provide prominent notice and consent mechanisms as required by Chrome Web Store policies, through the Extension interface or store listing. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the most recent version.
